The local area offers a wide choice of places to visit and things to do, with visitor attractions and activities to suit different groups and interests.

Attractions and activities

Chirk Castle is a short drive away (some groups walk! About 1.5 hours each way). They offer activites for school groups tailored to their curriculum topics. 

Erddig is a little further away but is a stately home also catering for school groups, with plenty of outside space to explore too. 

Park Hall Working Farm Museum offer different activities throughout the year, including feeding lambs, pig racing and meeting the different animals. 

The British Ironworks visitor attraction is on the A5 on the way to Shrewsbury. See blacksmiths at work, enjoy the large metal animal sculptures and watch a falconry demonstration. 

​Also at Park Hall is the Venue where you can go bowling and Black Hawk who offer laser-tag.

Rednal Arena have outdoor karting, paintball and lazer tag and offer special offers for multiple activity packages. 

Whittington Castle also offer a selection of activities and sessions for children.
